For the purposes of the Gnaala Karla Booja (GKB) Member Business Register, a First Nations Business is a business that is owned, operated, and controlled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. The business owner or principal operator must be a GKB member or have a recognised connection to the GKB Claimant Area.
The GKB Member Business Register is open to First Nations businesses owned or operated by GKB members, or by First Nations people with a recognised connection to the GKB Claimant Area. Businesses must have a current ABN and provide accurate business details. Business owners agree to operate in a respectful, professional, and culturally appropriate manner. By joining the register, businesses consent to their details being promoted by GKB to support economic development and business opportunities for GKB members. Being listed on the register does not guarantee work, contracts, or endorsement by GKB. GKB may verify information and remove businesses that no longer meet the eligibility requirements.
